THE MENOPAUSAL EXPAT

Forgetting why you wanted a global lifestyle?

You've hit menopause, life is a bit more confusing, you're a bit more tired than usual

A globally mobile life is challenging, right?

Our mission is to help you find your voice, follow your own path, and succeed in your new location.

Together we'll create a globally mobile menopause movement!
You deal with a new language, new climate and new culture.

Sometimes it’s hard to recognise anything.

Then! Just when you think you have everything sorted the menopause hits.

All the things you thought you knew are no longer quite true.

The body you’ve lived with decides to change.

The energy you once had takes a nose dive and fatigue sets in.

At the same time you might be kind of excited, wanting to make the most of new ambition and this stage of your life.

I'm Jane Ordaz - The Menopausal Expat at your service!
❊❊❊  Now's the time for you
to make the most of you and your life abroad.

No more discreet fanning, no more apologies because you’re exhausted, no more looking in the mirror at your beautiful self and seeing a fatter uglier older you, no more being invisible at work and home, no more thinking you can’t because you can...

You are wise and wonderful and courageous and you are ENOUGH.

“There is no more creative force in the world
than the menopausal woman with zest.”
Margaret Mead - Anthropologist

MY STORY...

Perhaps you’ll recognise a little of yourself here.

I was excited to move abroad, was so up for the adventure and change. I fell headlong into finding schools, getting a job and a place to live.

About 1 year in the menopause hit. I didn’t realise it at the time; wondered why I was so exhausted, why my emotions were like mount Vesuvius and put the hot flashes down to the climate.

This was in 2014. I’d left the UK and moved to Mexico with my son and husband. I soon found out the menopause is still a big taboo, treated more as a illness than the amazing transition it is. At this time I didn’t have friends in Mexico to share my menopausal excitement.
